Celebrate GM’s current and rising place leaders with us this summer!
On July 1st, at JLL’s inspiring 10th floor offices, we’re bringing together our Future of Greater Manchester community to celebrate six years of leadership, collaboration and impact across our city-region.
Since 2020, Future of GM alumni have shaped strategy, built partnerships and driven change that you can see and feel across GM – and we’re just getting started!
Alongside networking, drinks and nibbles, we’ll celebrate all of our alumni and recognise five outstanding individuals whose leadership is creating exceptional impact across GM.
If someone comes to mind – please nominate them (you can absolutely nominate yourself)! There are five categories:
- Inclusive Growth – Recognising an alum whose work has driven regeneration or service delivery in a way that is inclusive, accessible and rooted in local communities.
- Impact – Celebrating leadership that has delivered tangible impact in a specific place, neighbourhood or borough, strengthening identity, pride and long-term resilience.
- Collaboration – Recognising exceptional partnership working across public, private, voluntary or community sectors to solve complex place-based challenge
- Climate & Resilience – Celebrating leadership that has embedded sustainability, climate adaptation or net-zero thinking into regeneration, infrastructure or services.
- Innovation – For bold, creative approaches that rethink how places are funded, designed or delivered to better serve residents and users.
Anyone can nominate, and nominators won’t be named unless you ask us to. We need 100-200 words outlining the person’s impact and how it connects to the award category. Please include 1-5 high resolution photos if available.

We’ll also host a short conversation with some of our bursary recipients, exploring the role of not-for-profit leaders in helping to deliver the GM strategy. #ItTakesAVillage
