Events

We run free and friendly cross-sector events including field trips, coaching and topical networking, and all are welcome. Future of Greater Manchester events bring together Leaders alumni and mentors, our Diverse Voices network, project partners and experts from all levels and from across the growing Future of GM family.

Intercity Exchange – GM field trip

  • Stockport, Mayfield, Northern Quarter
  • Date: Wednesday 5th June
  • Time: 10:45-5:30pm
  • Meeting point: Stockport, details to be shared with confirmed guests

This is the first in a series of open-enrolment Intercity Exchanges backed by place strategy consultants PRD, including London/GM alumni rep Amanda Robinson. The focus is regeneration, economic sustainability and engagement, and we’ll tour Stockport, Mayfield and the Northern Quarter. The trip is open to our network in London, Greater Manchester and across the UK, and is designed to connect practitioners as well as share best practice. Alumni have priority places.

Numbers are limited, so registration is required. To request a spot or ask about the autumn exchange trip to London, please email info@futureofgreatermanchester.com.

“Pride in our Work” coaching with Proud Trust

  • Date: Tuesday 11th June
  • Time: 11:00-12:30pm
  • Zoom: link to be shared with confirmed participants

Pride in our Work is an online intro to LGBT+ identities led by Sophie Sims, Training & Education Manager at The Proud Trust. The session will include discussion of up-to-date terminology, pronouns and why it’s important to get them right, and will give participants the confidence to become proactive LGBT+ allies, prompting you to think about what changes would lead to a more LGBTQ+ inclusive workplace – and to consider inclusion more broadly. There will be an opportunity for reflection and discussion on how you’ll apply your learning to your areas of work. This is Future of GM’s first “Skills Swap” with third-sector partners.

Numbers are limited for good discussion, so registration is required. Please email info@futureofgreatermanchester.com to request a spot or find out about Skills Swaps.

Priority is to our Greater Manchester alumni and network, but the session is open to the full Future of GM and Future of London network, and we’ll start a waitlist for a second session.
